Mt. Moriah Random is quarried out of Utah in the Snake Mountain Range near the Nevada border. It has a beautiful mixture of gold, rust, tan, silver, white, and burgundy. It is available in flagstone, flooring, full veneer, snapped ledger, and thin veneer. The Mt. Moriah quartzite deposit has an extensive history behind it. In the original Bonneville Lakebed, deposits of sedimentary rock were subjected to tremendous heat and pressure causing a complete re-crystallization into layers of quartzite and coarse-grained mica schists. Quartzite containing mica breaks into flat, even layers along seams, a property called cleavage.
